Mission Project
Our Charity -
The Kimbuta Rural Development Plan
We have been supporting Rory’s Well for 4 years and have raised an incredible £3970. The trustees have always expressed their gratitude for the support we have given them and I think it’s fair to say we have enjoyed being part of such a vibrant and exciting project, with many personal links to some of the trustees.
At the last Mission Committee it was decided that we should now think about supporting a different charity as our support is usually for 2 years.
Our criteria are that it should be an overseas, small scale charity that enables us to see how our money is being spent and that, hopefully, will allow us to have some connection with those involved.
The Mission Committee proposed that we support KRDP – The Kimbuta Rural Development Plan and this was agreed at the recent Church Council. KRDP works in a rural area in the east of Uganda and we last supported them in 2004-6.
My brother and sister-in-law together with two friends began KRDP 23 years ago and are still trustees. They will be able to keep us updated and will be willing to come and talk to us about their work.
